Dependent clause Vs Independent clause ต่างกันอย่างไร?
วันนี้เราจึงสรุปความแตกต่างของทั้งสองและหลักการใช้มาฝากทุกคน
Clause หรือ อนุประโยค เป็นกลุ่มคำที่มี Subject และ Verb หรือที่เรียกอีกอย่างหนึ่งว่า Predicate ภาคแสดงอยู่ในประโยค
ซึ่งแบ่งออกเป็นสองแบบ
Dependent Clause
A dependent clause cannot stand on its own. It needs an independent clause to complete a sentence. Dependent clauses often begin with such words as although, since, if, when, and because.
อนุประโยคที่ต้องการส่วนเติมเต็ม หากอยู่เดี่ยวๆจะทำให้ประโยคไม่สมบูรณ์ให้ใจความที่ไม่ครบถ้วนจำเป็นต้องพึ่ง independent clause จึงจะเป็นประโยคที่สมบูรณ์ โดยปกติ จะมีคำเหล่านี้อยู่ด้วย although, since, if, when, and because.

When Jim studied in the Sweet Shop for his chemistry quiz . . .
แปลว่า เมื่อจิมเรียนอยู่ที่สวีทช้อปเพื่อทดสอบทางเคมี….
สังเกตว่าประโยคนี้ มีทั้งภาคประธาน (Jim) และภาคแสดง (studied)แต่ให้ความหมายของประโยคที่ยังไม่ครบถ้วน
(ประโยคมันไม่จบ มันต้องข้อความอื่นเสริมเข้าเพื่อจะได้ใจความที่ครบถ้วน พอมาอ่านแล้วรู้สึกว่าแล้วยังไงต่อ เกิดอะไรขึ้น)

ตอนที่จิมเรียนที่สวีทช้อปเพื่อแบบทดสอบเคมีของเขา มันเสียงดังมาก
it was very noisy.เป็นส่วนขยายที่ทำให้ประโยคใจความของประโยคครบถ้วน
ข้อควรจำ
Dependence Clause มักจะมีคำเหล่านี้วางอยู่ด้านหน้าประโยคด้วยเสมอ: after, although, as, as if, because, before, even if, even though, if, in order to, since, though, unless, until, whatever, when, whenever, whether, and while.
Independent clause
A clause is a group of words containing a subject and verb. An independent clause is a simple sentence. It can stand on its own.
อนุประโยคที่ไม่การส่วนเติมเต็ม อนุประโยคที่ให้ใจความครบถ้วนสมบูณณ์โดยไม่ต้องมี Dependence Clause อยู่ในประโยค รูปแบบประโยคคล้ายกับ Simple Tense

ประโยคนี้มี 2 Clauses
Jim studied in the Sweet Shop for his chemistry quiz (Clause ที่ 1 คือ Dependent Clause)
however, it was hard to concentrate because of the noise.(Clause ที่ 2 คือ Independent Clause)
ข้อควรจำ
ในกรณีที่มีทั้งสอง Clause ใน Independent Clause ต้องมีการเติม Independent Marker ซึ่งในประโยคนี้ก็คือ (;) semi colon ต้องวางไว้หน้า Independent Clause
