“ศัพท์ Eng นานาภาษาตำรวจ” การจับกุม
วันนี้เราพาทุกคนมารู้จักคำศัพท์ในวงการตำรวจกัน ซึ่งหลายคนอาจจะได้ยินข่าวเกี่ยวกับการก่ออาชญากรรมผ่านข่าวอยู่บ่อยๆแทบจะทุกวันเลยก็ว่าได้ ข่าวการบุกรังผู้ต้องหา ข่าวการจับกุมผู้ก่อเหตุ ซึ่งวันนี้เราอยากให้ทุกคนได้เรียนรู้คำศัพท์ในแวดวงนี้ มาเรียนภาษาผ่านข่าวกันเถอะ
Arrest
Arrest (n.) แปลว่า การจับกุม
Arrest = the act of arresting someone
ยกตัวอย่างเช่น
She was stopped outside the shop and placed under arrest. หล่อนถูกกักตัวอยู่นอกร้านภายใต้การจับกุม
Arrest
Arrest (v.) แปลว่า จับกุมตัวเพื่อนำไปสู่การสอบปากคำและหาสาเหตุแรงจูงใจในการกระทำผิด
Arrest (v.) = If the police arrest someone, they take them away to ask them about a crime that they might have committed.
ยกตัวอย่าง
He was arrested when customs officers found drugs in his bag. เขาถูกจับกุมตัวเมื่อเจ้าหน้าศุลกากรพบยาเสพติดในกระเป๋าของเค้า
ดังนั้น Arrest สามารถเป็นได้ทั้งคำนามและคำกริยา
Seize
Seize การยึดของที่ผู้ต้องหาครอบครองและจับกุมตัวจากนั้นการดำเนินการตามกฎหมาย
Seize = when the police or other officials seize something, they take possession of it with legal authority
ยกตัวอย่าง
Federal agents seized two computers. เจ้าหน้าที่รัฐยึดของกลางเป็นคอมพิวเตอร์สองตัว
(คอมพิวเตอร์ไม่ใช่สิ่งผิดกฎหมายแต่เป็นเครื่องมือที่ผู้ต้องหาใช้ในการกระทำผิด เจ้าหน้าจึงทำการยึดไว้)
Catch
Catch การไล่จับผู้ที่กระทำผิด
Catch (v.)= to discover, see, or realize something, especially someone doing something wrong
ยกตัวอย่าง
The police caught the thief last night. เมื่อคืนนี้ตำรวจจับโจร
Caught เป็น กริยาช่องสองของ catch เนื่องจากเป็นการพูดถึงอดีตเราจึงใช้ Past Simple Tense
Capture
Capture จับตัวผู้กระทำให้ได้รับโทษโดยใช้ข้อบังคับทางกฎหมาย
Capture = to take someone as a prisoner, or to take something into your possession, especially by force
ยกตัวอย่าง
Two of the soldiers were killed and the rest were captured. ทหารสองนายถูกฆ่าตายและส่วนที่เหลือถูกจับตัวแล้ว
The soldiers were captured by enemy forces. ทหารถูกจับโดยกองกำลังของศัตรู
Suspect
Suspect แปลว่า ผู้ต้องหาหรือบุคคลผู้ถูกหาว่าได้กระทำความผิด แต่ยังมิได้ถูกฟ้องต่อศาล
Suspect(n.) = a person believed to have committed a crime or done something wrong, or something believed to have caused something bad

Police have issued a photograph of the suspect. ตำรวจได้ภาพผู้ต้องสงสัยแล้ว
Suspect
Suspect แปลว่า สงสัยว่าบุคคลใดการกระทำผิด เช่น ตำรวจสงสัยว่าพี่สาวเป็นคนฆ่าน้องสาวเนื่องจากเป็นผู้ที่อยู่กับผู้ตายเป็นคนสุดท้ายก่อนเสียชีวิต
Suspect (v.) = to think that someone has committed a crime or done something wrong

The police suspect her because she is the last person who’s met the deceased person.
ตำรวจสงสัยหล่อนเพราะเป็นคนที่ไปพบผู้ตายเป็นคนสุดท้าย
