1. Both….and…
เราใช้ Both พูดถึง “ทั้งสองคน” หรือ “ทั้งสองอย่าง”
ตัวอย่างเช่น
I can speak both English and Spanish.
= ฉันสามารภพูดภาษาอังกฤษและภาษาสเปนได้
Both Tom and Jack are going to attend a seminar this weekend.
= ทั้งทอมและแจ็คจะเข้าร่วมการสัมมนาสับปดาห์นี้..
2. Either…or….
เราใช้ either.. or เพื่อพูดเกี่ยวกับทางเลือกที่มี
Either/ or = Choice between two (provides a choice between two possibilities) คือ ทางเลือกระหว่างสองอัน (ให้ตัวเลือกสองทางที่พอเป็นไปได้ ไม่อันใดก็อันหนึ่ง)
ตัวอย่างเช่น
I can speak either English or Spanish.
= ฉันสามารถพูดภาษาอังกฤษและภาษาสเปนได้ทั้งสองภาษา
Either my mom or dad will attend. (My mom or my dad will attend)
= ไม่คุณแม่ก็คุณพ่อของฉันจะมาเข้าร่วมงาน
Either you or John has to finish the report before 5 pm.
= ไม่คุณก็จอห์นต้องทำรีพอร์ทให้เสร็จก่อนห้าโมงเย็น
You can choose either the red shirt or the blue shirt.

A: I have never been to Switzerland ฉันไม่เคยไปสวิตเซอร์แลนด์
B: Neither have I. or Me, neither. ฉันก็ไม่เคยเหมือนกัน..
3. Neither…nor….
Neither/nor = None of the choices (not this one and not the other) คือ ไม่มีทางเลือก (ไม่ใช่ทางเลือกนี้และทางอื่นๆก็ไม่ใช่ ไม่ใช่ทั้งสองอัน)
ตัวอย่างเช่น
I can speak neither French nor Arabic.
= ฉันไม่สามารถพูดภาษาฝรั่งเศสและภาษาอาราบิกได้ทั้งสองภาษา
I drink neither coffee nor tea. (I don’t drink coffee and tea)
= ฉันไม่ดื่มทั้งกาแฟและก็ชา
Neither John nor Fred likes doing the dishes. (John and Fred don’t like doing the dishes)

I want neither the red shirt nor the blue shirt. (I don’t want the red shirt and the blue shirt)
